Selective OCR

OCR any selected area without a full-page scan. Extract exactly what you need and then copy, translate, or share the result instantly. Perfect for scanned books, charts, or images with embedded text.

Text Selection Toolbar has been simplified. You can now customize which features it includes and choose how they’re displayed—icons only or icons with text.

Reading Time Estimate

You can now view your remaining reading time to better understand your pace and manage study sessions. The status bar is now customizable—choose to show battery, chapter title, and page number.

Cloud Sync Book Source Files

Sync the source files of your books along with all your notes, highlights, and annotations. Long-press a book, go to the Sync tab, and tap “Upload source file.” Once you sign in on another BOOX device, your book is right there.

*Each book must be under 200 MB. Same BOOX account and server required.

Local Book Backup

Backup your book files, including notes, annotations, and saved reading themes. This creates a “.booxc” archive, which you can copy to another BOOX device for restoration. No cloud is needed—your key data stays safe and fully local.

Infinite Notes

Infinite Notes automatically expands the canvas when you write to the right or bottom edges. All five built-in templates scale with it. You can also set anchors and jump between sections. No more page breaks or size limits.

Note Toolbox

Create custom tool presets for different note-taking scenarios, giving you minimalist toolbars tailored to each task.

Floating Lasso Toolbar

The Lasso tool menu now follows your selection instead of staying at the top. No need to move far—just select and act instantly.

New Pens

New calligraphy and fountain pens present dynamic strokes with clear line variation. They capture pressure, curves, and movement beautifully—perfect for creative journaling and expressive note-taking.

Quickly choose a preset E Ink display theme, changing refresh mode, color mode, layout, and other settings all at once. Instantly switch to the best display setup for web browsing, comics, or productivity apps without repeated tweaking to save time.

Front Light Modes

Front light settings are also upgraded to switchable modes. Instead of manually adjusting brightness and color temperature as lighting changes, you can now switch modes with one tap.
